2017 has been another fantastic year for UK Adult Braces! I’m very grateful for the huge support I am getting for this site and continue to see the readership grow each month. There have been a number of highlights for me this year and in this post I will share these with you.
Getting invited onto the British Orthodontic Society Patient Panel was a tremendous privilege and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Prof. Tim Newton and Anna Lambert as well as the press and communications team who have supported us throughout the year. We have been involved in some interesting projects including the re-branding of the Society, the wording of a number of publications and, of course, the planning and launch of the #HoldThatSmile Retainer campaign featuring Dr. Simon Littlewood. My term on the panel is coming to an end in the Spring but that doesn’t mean I won’t continue to be a supporter of the great work the Society does and I’m sure they will continue to see a great deal of me in the years to come.
What started out as a one off article soon turned out to be a regular feature and the series ‘a coffee with’ will continue in 2018 with several well known orthodontists keen to contribute. I was also fortunate to have several guest writers last year including Sarah MacDonald and Dr Paroo Mistry who wrote some great articles that I know many of my readers found interesting.
The British Orthodontic Conference in Manchester was another highlight, not just with attending the fascinating lectures, but also with the opportunity to meet and catch up with so many people who have supported my blog throughout the year. And a special thank you to the team at BOS who made me feel so welcome both at the conference and at their London HQ during my visits.
I’m also grateful to a number of different companies who have sent me products to review and a couple more of these will feature early next year. Finally, all the #adultbraces bloggers who produce great content on their experiences are an inspiration and thanks for allowing me to link back to your blogs.
I wish you all a fantastic 2018.
